Friends of Doors:
It’s TIME for us to make our big
announcement! Doors has undergone a major transition…we are now a solely Uganda-based
organization!
Due to some challenges on the US non-profit side of Doors
Ministries, and the continual growth of Doors in Uganda, we have made the
decision to become a solely Uganda-based organization. We began making this
transition near the beginning of the year and are nearly complete.
Just over 6 years ago, our Founders began casting God-sized vision
over the new baby organization of Doors Ministries. At that time, Doors was
just a rehabilitative home for former street boys. This was before the addition
of Doors Primary School and every other program now run with the vision of
discipleship through Doors. Our Founders dreamed that one day the entire
organization and vision they had for Doors and for the boys in the home would
be passed onto to Ugandans passionate about God’s kingdom and passionate about
discipleship. This transition fulfills that vision.
Doors Ministries is now fully Ugandan led. Our Director, Peter, has taken the torch of Doors and
is leading the ministry into the next season of growth and vision casting. He
has a strong team around him. He has worked with Doors for over 4 years,
beginning as an uncle in the former Doors Boys’ Home himself. He is the man God
has appointed to lead for this time and for His purposes. We are grateful for
his vision, his passion, his enduring faith, his gifts and talents, and his
commitment to Doors. We look forward to the fruit that will grow and the seeds
that will be planted by God’s grace under his leadership.
With this decision to transition, came the hurdle
of figuring out the best way for international donors and financial partners,
yourself included, to continue supporting and connecting with Doors in Uganda.
We prayed and sought direction, and the Lord provided an awesome opportunity
for us through Allegro Organizational Solutions. Allegro is a US-based team of
non-profit experts who serve charitable initiatives by managing the
administrative, financial, and legal tasks, so that charities can focus on
their vision.
With this partnership, Allegro will now take on all
administrative tasks for Doors, and allow our donors to give directly to Doors
in Uganda through their organization. Allegro is a US non-profit, thus
all funds donated to Doors through Allegro will be tax deductible. Of course,
the organization does take an overhead charge in order to compensate for the
services they are providing. We believe this charge is well worth for what they
will be providing for Doors, including wire transfers into our Ugandan bank
account.

To donate to Doors from now on, you have many
reliable options for giving. You can mail a check payable to Allegro Solutions
(with our account designation code DoorsMinistries.001 included on the
memo line), call Allegro and set up a credit card or direct bank transfer over
the phone (reach Allegro at 713-874-1519), or give online by going to https://allegrosolutions.org/donate/DoorsMinistries001. Online, you
are now able to give through credit card, PayPal, or an electronic bank
transfer. We recommend an electronic bank transfer as it has
the lowest overhead charge incurred allowing more of your money given to go
directly to Doors and the work being done. To set up a recurring donation,
simply click on the “recurring” icon opposed to the “1x” default icon. Please
let us know if you have any questions about how to set up your account, where
exactly your money goes, or about these changes at Doors. You can send a note
through this site, or email our sponsorship coordinator, Ashley Lammers, at Ashley@doorsministries.org. We are very
happy to explain everything in full to you.
We praise God for His continual provision and
blessing on Doors Ministries, and we are so grateful for your support in the
past and now.
